It showed up on Craigslist last month. I know the guy. My guy knew a guy who's father had two Gold Dust twins and a spare power supply over in New York state somewhere. My guy had been trying to make a deal for a long time and finally got them. One rig was working right off the bat, the other one powered up but there was no grid drive. I took the bad one. I passed on the 75A-4. I've got a 51J-4 ready to go. Maybe that was a mistake. We'll see.

The rig is in good shape. Original manual, fairly clean inside, factory mods installed and documented with some recapping done probably a few decades ago. I immediately felt at home poking around. The VFO and brass gearing remeniscent of the R390 I tackled a few years ago. Hopefully this KWS-1 will wind up as happy as that R-390.
