CAPTIVE IN COVENTRY

Reports from behind the lines in the Coventry 'Green-Zone'

Day 1 - Wednesday
Day 2 - Thursday
Day 3 - Friday
Day 4 - Saturday
Day 5 - Sunday
Day 6 - Monday

Greetings from behind the lines.

TUESDAY AUG 17:

Driving to work this morning the first thing that
hits you is the trash. All over the place. When
you get 70,000 people congregated in one place
you have to expect that. One of the concerns of some of the
locals was that while the festival site itself might
get cleaned up, there was some skepticism as to what
condition the surrounding area would be left in. People
were particularly concerned about trash that would
accumulate on RT 5.

Garbage on RT.5 - Tuesday

Well true to their words Phishheads clean up after
themselves. The Clean Vibes crew was spread out
on RT. 5 tuesday evening picking up the junk.

On my way home today there were still 2 abandoned
vehicles on the side of the interstate.

Abandoned car south of Barton - Tuesday

Vendors down in Barton and Irasburg were
packing up the last of their tents. A few
roadside Porta-Johns are still available.
Budget Rental called and said they will pick up
the disabled van alongside our driveway soon.

WMOO the local FM radio station (which was hijacked
by Phishheads for 5 days and played the most wonderful
mix of music I have ever heard on the air) is back
to it's middle-of-the-road pop offerings.

I miss the Bunny so much it almost hurts.

The barricades are gone and the roads are clear.

So that about does it.
It feels a bit empty, but things are getting back to normal.
It's pretty quiet here in the kingdom again.
